Parade of Lights November 28 – see us there!

Mark your calendar… the Sechelt Parade of Lights Truck Parade happens Saturday November 28th, 5pm and runs in conjunction with the Lighting of the Rockwood and downtown Sechelt.

This popular event is put on by the Sechelt Downtown Business Association.

The route starts on Inlet near Capilano University, down to Dolphin over to Ocean down onto Cowrie up to Inlet then around again, 2 laps in all.
So stake out your viewing spot early, the corners at the Village Restaurant and Pretty Natty Duds are really popular, bring some chairs and noisemakers to cheer on the drivers!

The Christmas Carol Cruise plans to have a lighted boat on a trailer in the Parade, so whoop extra loud when we go by.

This December – 2014 Christmas Carol Cruise Sechelt Inlet

Thanks to everyone who came out for a wonderful 2014 Christmas Carol Cruise!

A total of 14 boats paraded from Porpoise Bay to Tuwanek and back on a crystal clear night perfect for hearing the lead ship’s carols ringing out over the Inlet. Sunshine Coast Salmon Enhancement Society provided hot chocolate and popcorn at Porpoise Bay Park, and there was a rippingly good bonfire down on the beach. Sandy Hook Beach was the second party up the shoreline, followed by Tuwanek, and Shora Marina over across the water from the Park caught the Cruise on the return to Porpoise Bay.

See you next year!

Note: for 2014 we are also looking for a partner vessel for our kayakers participating in the Christmas Carol Cruise. We need a safety spotter boat with a radio so they can participate safely and so the other boats in the Cruise can see them better – one way from boat launch to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park.

The viewing location is Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. Popcorn, coffee and hot chocolate are being provided by the Sunshine Coast Salmonid Enhancement Society (Chapman Creek Hatchery), and will be collecting non-perishable donations for the Sechelt Food Bank.
